Creating Your Own Frequency Combinations

Creating Your Own Frequency Combinations

Imagine that a turn of a knob can boost your morale. Imagine reaching out for a frequency rather than a pill for your aches and pains.  Imagine that simply listening to sounds can make you healthier in mind, body and spirit. Imagine gaining valuable insight into your own well-being. Imagine having a dedicated tool that can help get you started on this journey….

Imagine no more, because from this point on, this is your reality. In this article, we will be looking at some of the fundamentals of healing frequencies and how to use our free online frequency generators. As you learn about frequency healing, you will come across certain terms that you’ve probably heard before, but have no idea what they mean. You do not need to be a sound engineer to use these frequency generators, but having a basic understanding of the nomenclature will give you the confidence to explore.

A very basic frequency primer

To start off on the right foot, we will define some basic terms in acoustics:

Frequency is defined as the number of oscillations or cycles per second of a sound wave. It is measured in Hertz (Hz), where 1 Hz equals one cycle per second. The frequency of a sound wave determines its audible pitch, with higher frequencies producing energizing higher pitched sounds and lower frequencies producing calming lower pitched sounds. Certain people may have heightened sensitivity to higher pitches, which is why easing into them is recommended.

Waveforms are the visible depictions of the shape and pattern of sound waves, showing the amplitude (loudness) and frequency (pitch). Each of these waveforms has its own “personality” and can be layered to create new auditory experiences. These are the four waveforms:

Sine: This is known as the “fundamental” waveform, and when you attach a frequency to it, there will be no harmonics, or side effects. This is the “vanilla” waveform, and is thus the preferred starting point when tinkering with frequencies.  It produces a smooth, soothing sound. Sine waves are often used for regeneration and healing.

Square: Square waves are reminiscent of old video games because of their raw, buzzy sound. They are appreciated for their richness, which makes them popular for layering. Square waves are often used for killing pathogens, but can be used in healing as well.

Triangle: Triangle waves look quite a bit like the sine, but without the curves. They sound buzzier and brighter than sine waves, but not as buzzy as square waves. Triangle waves are also great for layering.

Sawtooth: Sawtooth waves are known for their rich harmonic content and are also good for layering. They are bright and buzzy.

Carrier frequency, or base tone, is the foundational pitch around which a binaural beat is created. For example, to create a 15 Hz beat, you could use carriers of 140 Hz and 155 Hz, or 425 Hz and 440 Hz. The beat is the same, but the underlying sound is completely different.

Now let’s take a look at the three sound frequency modalities we will be exploring with the frequency generators:

Solfeggio Frequencies are a set of ancient tones believed to promote stress reduction, emotional healing, and balance. Many of these frequencies focus on relaxation and circulation, which help create conditions that aid in physical healing.

Binaural Beats are created when two slightly different sound frequencies are played—one in each ear—through stereo headphones. The brain detects the small difference between them and perceives a third beat, or an auditory illusion. For example, if you hear 200 Hz in one ear and 210 Hz in the other, your brain interprets a 10 Hz beat. This subtle effect can influence brainwave activity, helping the mind settle into states linked to relaxation, focus, or rest.

Rife frequencies are specific electromagnetic waves that interact with the resonant frequency of living microorganisms. By identifying the exact frequency of a microorganism and exposing these electromagnetic waves to its “resonance,” the vibration would disrupt its internal structure, similar to how an opera singer can shatter a glass by matching its frequency. This allows for pathogens to be destroyed without hurting healthy cells.

Before we continue, take a quick look at this frequency chart, which will later help you in creating your own frequency recipes.

You will see that some of these frequencies are focused more on emotional well-being, others on physical issues, and still others on spiritual upliftment.  You may also have noted that there is no clear separation on what purpose a certain type of frequency would serve, and that there is a fair amount of overlap amongst frequencies and modalities. This is quite fitting, because much of what ails us is multi-layered and intricate: a symptom is usually the end result of many different unresolved issues or unfulfilled needs. That is why just treating the symptom without considering a deeper underlying cause might not be enough.

A case for combining frequencies

In his brilliant book, “Dis-moi où tu as mal, je te dirai pourquoi”, Michel Odoul perfectly illustrates the impact of emotions on our physical well-being. Drawing from Carl Jung and Traditional Chinese Medicine, he has provided a holistic approach to assist us in better understanding the root causes of what ails us. Let’s see how Michel Odoul looks at a common problem, knee pain:

“The knee is the second joint in the leg, used for bending, kneeling, and getting down on one’s knees. It is the joint of humility, inner flexibility, and deep strength. […] It is the outward sign of allegiance, acceptance, even surrender and submission. The knee represents the ‘gateway to acceptance’… It is easy to deduce that when we have knee pain, it means that we have difficulty bending, accepting a particular experience. It is equally important to know which one is causing you pain: if it is the right one, you will question your relationship with femininity, your mother, your family, and your emotions. If it is the left one, try to find the source of your problem in your relationship with masculinity and your father.”

what your aches and pains are telling you

We are complex beings, so it’s only natural that we look our well-being in a similar way. So why not combine different frequencies or even different modalities? The first thing you need to do is to determine what outcomes you are seeking. If we go back to that knee problem, we could imagine that it’s the right knee that hurts, so we first decide upon Solfeggio 174 Hz frequency for pain relief. As it’s the right knee, we would then look at the underlying emotional element, for example having an unresolved dispute with a sibling.  Or perhaps it’s not a relationship issue, but more a problem with a project that your boss made you undertake.  In either case, we would select Solfeggio 639 Hz, which fosters both love and acceptance.

As a given physical health issue may stem from an underlying emotional, mental and even spiritual component, combining frequencies will often produce better results: it can treat both the symptom and its suspected root cause at the same time. This will require introspection and asking yourself the question: what could have gotten me to this point?  As you assume the roles of being both your own personal physician and Sherlock Holmes, you need to take a neutral stance when you start exploring facets of your life that may be uncomfortable. Just understand that this is a necessary component to healing. Luckily, you’ve got a powerful ally to help you- frequencies. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Start off simple

You will see that there are two tools: the Online Frequency Generator and the Binaural Beats Generator. Both have presets, which is where you should start if this is your first time using them.  Regarding the Online Frequency Generator, the most popular sessions are highlighted, but just underneath in the black search field, you will find a treasure trove of other wellness presets to explore. The Binaural Beats presets feature just the brainwaves. If you want to test them for a particular desired outcome, then refer to the chart here.

These presets will give you an idea about the auditory experience you will have. Some sounds may take some getting used to. Here are a few tips to ease into a comfortable healing session:

  • Create an optimal listening environment. Think of this as your spa session: use over-the-ear, plug-in headsets (if possible- they’re preferable to bluetooth models or listening over a speaker). Listen in a calm setting with few distractions. Avoid aggressive lighting. Don’t beat yourself up if you’re listening while working away at the computer on an important project. It’s all good!
  • Start with shorter sessions and gradually work your way up. The suggested time frame is 20-30 minutes for lower frequencies, 10-20 minutes for mid-range frequencies, and 15-20 minutes for higher frequencies.  Once you’ve grown accustomed to using frequencies, you can vary the times according to your needs. More acute issues may require stronger support (often in conjunction with conventional care), with longer, regular sessions (e.g. 60 minutes, 3 times a week); while shorter overall wellness sessions can be integrated into daily routines. Nothing here is set in stone; let your body guide you.
  • Note any signs of auditory fatigue (dizziness, headaches, unwanted fatigue, irritability…). When this happens, put the program on pause, rest and hydrate. Don’t let your desire to “get better quickly” override your comfort.

Step 2: Start mixing frequencies on your own

Now that you have tried some of the frequency presets, you can start creating your own wellness  “recipes”. This can be done by layering, or stacking, frequencies with using our frequency generator. Let’s look at a few of them:

Solfeggio + Solfeggio

You can personalize layering Solfeggio frequencies to combine desired outcomes in a harmoniously pleasing way. Here are a some of the most popular combinations. Many of these can be found as preset, but if you can’t find what you’re looking for, mix it up!

  1. 528 Hz (DNA Repair) + 432 Hz (Natural Tuning) for emotional healing, stress relief, and cellular repair.
  2. 396 Hz (Liberating Guilt and Fear) + 417 Hz (Facilitating Change) to release emotional blockages and past trauma.
  3. 639 Hz (Harmonizing Relationships) + 852 Hz (Awakening Intuition) to improve relationships and develop oneself spiritually.
  4. 741 Hz (Detoxification) + 852 Hz (Awakening Intuition) for the cleansing of the body, mind, and spirit.
  5. 111 Hz (Sacred Frequency) + 7.83 Hz (Schumann Resonance) to calm the nervous system and reduce stress.

Binaural Beats + Binaural Beats

The brain is a master juggler: it doesn’t operate on just one frequency range at any given moment. Multiple types of brainwaves can coexist, interact, and contribute to your overall mental state. The boundaries between these frequency categories are not rigid but rather overlap. And that’s not all; it is said that frequency ranges can vary for the same brainwave states. This opens up frequency healing to a multitude of possibilities. Once you know what outcomes you want, get a head set, select the frequencies on the generator to create the corresponding binaural beats and fine tune the carrier (sine) frequency so that it produces a pleasant sound. Use your intuition and feeling to guide you into a comfortable experience.  Note the small changes that you’re likely to feel after a few minutes of listening.

The range for each of the brainwaves is as follows:

  • Delta Waves (1–4 Hz) induce deep sleep and regeneration.
  • Theta Waves (4–8 Hz) boost meditation, intuition, and creativity.
  • Alpha Waves (8–12 Hz) enhance relaxation, focus, and anxiety reduction.
  • Beta Waves (13–20 Hz) support alertness and problem-solving.
  • Gamma Waves (30–100 Hz) foster insight and peak performance. The range used in binaural beats however, is 30-40 Hz.

Here are some commonly used brainwave combinations:

  • Theta + Alpha: Meditation and creativity
  • Alpha + Beta: Calm focus and productivity
  • Theta + Gamma: Insight and heightened awareness
  • Delta + Theta: Recovery and stress relief
  • Alpha + Delta: Relaxation and sleep transition

Rife + Rife

While traditional Rife machines use contact electrodes or plasma tubes to deliver frequencies directly to the body, audio-based frequency therapy offers an accessible, risk-free way to explore this healing modality before investing in a device.  Lower frequencies (20-200 Hz) can penetrate deeper into body tissues. Mid-range frequencies (200-2000 Hz) affect organs and muscular systems. Higher frequencies (2000+ Hz) primarily influence surface tissues and the nervous system. Bear in mind that the audio version of Rife is not as powerful as machine-generated frequencies. You can tinker around with the following frequencies, starting with one, noting any changes, and combining with others for a more holistic approach.  Here are a few tested combinations (but feel free to mix and match!):

Relaxation and Stress Relief

  • 396 Hz– Fear and anxiety release
  • 528 Hz– “Love frequency” for emotional healing
  • 741 Hz– Mental clarity and focus

Physical Wellness

  • 40 HzCellular repair and regeneration
  • 174 HzPain relief
  • 285 HzTissue healing and regeneration

Energy and Vitality

  • 20-40 Hz– Deep physical healing
  • 432 Hz– Overall harmony
  • 963 Hz– Spiritual connection, higher consciousness

On a final note…

It’s important to keep in mind that the outcomes of frequency healing can be quite subtle: the more attuned you are to your body, the more you will notice these changes. There may also be times when acute care by conventional means is necessary. This is why discernment is so important. The more disciplined you are in using the frequencies, the more confident you will become in using them. Here are a few final tips:

  1. Don’t think one session will do it. It’s a good idea to establish a foundational routine. Begin with two to three sessions per week to acclimate to the practice and observe its effects on your physical, emotional, and mental states. You can then segue this into daily rituals of self-care, incorporating sound healing into morning or evening routines. If you dealing with issues like stress or pain, increasing the frequency of sessions may offer targeted support. Conversely, in calmer phases, maintaining a consistent but perhaps less frequent practice ensures sustained well-being.
  2. Keep track of your sessions. Remember, you’re using intangible means to deal with tangible issues, and it may take time for you to get used to “feeling” a result. Sometimes the shifts are immediate; other times they show up days later. This is why it’s advisable to keep a wellness journal to note the wellness goal, the frequencies, the modality used, the outcomes and any other observations you may have.
  3. A word of caution. There are certain cases where it is best not to engage in frequency sessions. This would be if you are in need of urgent care, have hearing sensitivities (tinnitus, hyperacusis…), are wearing an electronic medical device (pacemakers, cochlear implants…), have a seizure disorder, are pregnant, or are dealing with severe emotional distress (psychosis, PTSD flashbacks, suicidal ideation…). You should exercise caution in using frequencies if you are feeling emotionally overwhelmed or have strong detox symptoms. Always seek the advice of a trained professional if you are unsure.

FAQs

No, you can’t overdose on these frequencies. However, prolonged sessions at higher frequencies may lead to what is known as “vibrational fatigue”- minor side effects like headaches, dizziness, nervous over-stimulation, fatigue, nausea.

They may work…or not. The frequency presets and the online generators on this site have been tested to guarantee quality delivery of healing frequencies.

The human hearing range is typically between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. Anything under that will indeed be inaudible, but they are working on your body.

Healing sounds refer to any sound that is believed to have therapeutic properties, such as the sound of waves crashing on the shore or the chirping of birds. These sounds can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. Healing frequencies, on the other hand, specifically refer to the frequencies of sound waves that are believed to have healing properties.
