What is Frequency?

Have you ever woken up to birds gently chirping, warm sunlight on your skin, or a heartwarming text message from your loved ones? These experiences seem vastly different, but they all share a common, fundamental principle that underpins our entire reality: Frequency.

what is frequency

Frequency isn’t just a abstract concept from a physics textbook, but is the hidden pulse of all existence and the very key to understanding Frequency Healing. In this article, we’ll break down this essential concept in simple, relatable terms and explore how it directly connects to your health and well-being.

Demystifying Frequency: The Basic Definition

At its core, frequency is a measure of how often something repeats itself in a set amount of time.

Think about your heartbeat. If it beats 60 times in one minute, we say that its frequency is 60 beats per minute. Or if you clap your hands twice in one second, the frequency of your clap is 2 cycles per second.

We use a standard unit to make this universal in today’s world of science: Hertz (Hz). One Hertz is defined as one cycle (or vibration) per second, which makes two claps per second equate to 2 Hz.

As in turn, repeating 4 times in one second means to have a frequency of 4 Hz.

The Great Revelation: Everything is Vibration

This is perhaps the most crucial concept to grasp and is a bridge straight into the world of frequency healing. Modern physics starting with pioneers like Nikola Tesla has confirmed that everything in the universe—from the largest star to the smallest particle—is in a constant state of motion and vibration.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”  — Nikola Tesla

This means that everything has its own inherent frequency.

  • What we can hear: Sound is a vibration traveling through air, and the range of human hearing is typically between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz.
  • What we can see: Light is also a frequency part of the electromagnetic spectrum, and different colors are simply different light frequencies.
  • What we can’t see: Radio waves, Wi-Fi signals, and even our own brainwaves (Alpha, Beta, Theta, Delta) are all specific frequencies at work.
  • The Physical World: Every organ, tissue, and cell in your body has its own unique resonant frequency when in a normal state of health.

From Universal Physics to Your Body: The Symphony of Life

Your body is not a static collection of parts but a dynamic, living symphony of frequencies. Your heart beats with a steady, rhythmic frequency while your brain produces different brainwave frequencies depending on your various states: focused (Beta), relaxed (Alpha), in deep meditation (Theta), or asleep (Delta). Your organs and cells each vibrate at their own healthy, resonant frequencies.

This leads us to two essential states: Harmony and Disharmony.

Harmonious Frequency: When all the systems in your body are vibrating at their natural, healthy frequencies in sync, you experience a state of ease, balance, and health like a finely tuned orchestra.

Frequency Disharmony: When stress, toxins, negative emotions, or illness disrupt the natural vibrational frequency, it can fall into a state of “disharmony”, or disease. In our orchestra analogy, it’s like a violin string going out of tune, creating discord that affects the entire piece.

What is Frequency Healing?

Now for the most exciting part. If disharmonious frequencies can contribute to problems, can we use harmonious frequencies to correct them? And the answer is “yes”, which is the essence of Frequency Healing.

Frequency Healing is a modality that uses specific, beneficial frequencies such as sound, light, or electromagnetic waves to gently encourage the body’s disharmonious parts to return to their natural, healthy vibration state.

The principle at work is Resonance, which is the phenomenon where one vibrating object can cause another to vibrate simultaneously if their frequencies match, and a classic example is an opera singer shattering a glass with her voice because the note she sings matches the glass’s natural resonant frequency.

Similarly, frequency healing aims to use “coherent” or “healthy” frequencies to resonate with your body to encourage it to return to balance. In future blog posts, we’ll dive deeper into the various forms of frequency healing: Sound Therapy, Rife Machines, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy, and the Schumann Resonance.

Conclusion: Tuning Into a New Understanding

Frequency is the rate of vibration that makes up everything in our universe, and your body is a complex, vibrating energy system which health is deeply connected to the harmony of its frequencies, and frequency Healing offers a pathway to support this natural balance.

Now that you understood a little about frequencies, take a moment to listen to the world around you. What do you feel?
